  2. I added my vacation. It was not the vacation of a lifetime but it was a beautiful ride! I like the connections we can make on quickmap. We need to go to the wikimapia to add videos, audio, and pictures, right?

  3. There seems to be only one entry on the map as far as I can see for Bermuda. Am I missing something?

  4. Hi Susan, you need to zoom out to see othere. It's quickly obvious that this would not work because it is way open for people to delete things.

  5. Well, Paul, if it is a sign in situation, couldn't we be teaching our own students not to delete other entries?  Only they would have the log on so no outsider could delete anything.  Or, if we are using wikimapia also, would it have a revisions list where we can go to the last version before any deletions occured?

  6. I think it's easy to delete without meaning to and then someone might be afraid to use it.?

  7. I like the use of quikmaps here -- asking a group to write about points on the globe.  I was able to code in a link to a Flickr gallery of the trip, etc.  There are some issues with using it in, say, my class of ninth grade English students.  I almost cleared the whole map, which I assumed would have wiped out everybody's entries.  Is there a history panel where an earlier version of the map could be restored in case someone accidentally cleared it?

I also noticed that it saves my last changes as the "larger view" option. So users need to be shown how to save.  I had originally saved the larger view where I left off, which was zoomed in on just my part of the map.  Still, quikmaps is pretty easy to use.  I used it to sketch out a map of where my daughter got involved in a fender-bender and then sent that to our insurance company.
