One of my goals in the web-based research project is to teach my students how to not only perform effective internet searches but how to determine the credibility of the sources that they find.

The IMSA 21st Century Information Fluency Project is a site that I am eager to explore and use in my classroom. I really like this graphical representation of their concept:

\"Difmodel\"

The site is free for teachers to use, and covers various topics such as search terms, relevance and evaluation. There is also a wizard tool based on the diagram above, which I haven’t yet checked out but looks interesting. The wizard tool takes you through the steps of teaching the process of “digital information fluency.”

Keywords: classroom, digital information fluency, links, resource, tools, web 2.0

This post from a professor of education poses some interesting questions that I need to chew over before I can respond. Check it out and leave your two cents!
