What I love about the interweb is that I am practically guaranteed to find another teacher trying to do the same thing I am doing, and usually, that teacher is doing it better than me!
Eric Hoefler talks about using Web 2.0 tools to enrich student research and make it more meaningful. I immediately recognized the issue he raises of students falling back to the same old boring topics (drugs, sex, etc) in their research papers. I do hope to revive the research project at some point this year and I will try out Eric’s ideas. (I’m also interested in the independent scoring model that is used in his school but that’s a different story!)
