Webcasting is taking hold in my 8th grade classroom. The students come to class looking forward to getting on the mike. Today I asked them to print out their most recent blog post that was to be made up of stories that answer the question: "What's it like to be a ___ year old boy/girl in NYC in 2006?" The students had a lot of fun talking to their peers in Virginia. I'm thankful to Lee Babar in Virginia who has helped invited us to join this weekly webcast, Spacecast, which can be heard at 10:30 a.m. on Fridays. We are also joined by Madeline Brownstone's students in Queens. Listen in on Fridays at WorldBridges.net.

  1. I know it's not easy to do this work and to make the video at the same time is even harder. Thank you for allowing us to be in your room, learning how you do this, along with your students. Could you write a bit here about exactly how to connect the headsets and which microphone you are using up on the yellow cups and why you have it set up that way?

I bought a large batch of Logitech headsets with mics that look like the ones in this video but haven't been able to get the mic part to work yet. We're using them as headsets with usb mics. I need help figuring out what I need to set to get both the headset and the mic to work. Then there is also the issue of using them on the Apple and the Dell platform. Do they have two cables to plug into the computer? Mine do and it seems as though they can't be used on laptops, which now seem to have only a headset input.... lots of questions and challenges...
